Registration

The registration process for courses at the Cornwallis Campus of the Pearson Peacekeeping Centre (PPC) includes the following steps:

  1. Application and Acceptance
  2. Payment of Deposit
  3. Travel Arrangements
  4. Tuition Payment

Note: Please see the specific registration instructions for courses at our Montréal Campus.

1. Application and Acceptance

The application and acceptance step involves submitting an application form and curriculum vitae. Once you have submitted this information, we will determine if you are accepted in the course, and notify you as soon as possible.

A. Application Form
All candidates must fill out an Application Form to apply to any PPC course. The form tells us a bit about you, which courses you would like to attend, and how you would like to pay for them.

We provide the form online, which you can fill out and submit directly through our website, or print out, fill in and fax or mail to us. If you cannot use either of these methods, please contact us for assistance.

B. Curriculum Vitae
Along with your application form, you must also provide a current Curriculum Vitae. You can send it to us by mail, fax or email.

2. Payment of Deposit

To reserve your space in the course, we require a deposit at least two weeks before the beginning of the course. The amount of the deposit depends on the course you are taking. The deposit for a two-week course is Cdn $600, and goes toward the total tuition fee for the course, Cdn $2300.

The tuition fee covers the cost of the course, reading materials, accommodation and meals, return transportation from the Halifax airport and various social functions, including the Company of Good Cheer Dinner at the end of the course.

You can pay your deposit by:

  1. Credit card (VISA, MasterCard, American Express) - To pay with a credit card, please call or email the Registrar with your credit card number and the expiry date.

3. Travel Arrangements

The Pearson Peacekeeping Centre provides transportation from the Halifax airport to the Cornwallis Campus location.

Once you are accepted for a course and have obtained a visitor’s visa for Canada (if required), please advise the Centre of your travel arrangements using the online Travel form so that we can arrange to meet you at the airport. This form also helps us prepare for any dietary or accommodation needs you may have during your stay.

Participants must arrive on the Cornwallis Campus no later than early afternoon of the Sunday preceding the course.

Participants are welcome to stay on the Cornwallis Campus from noon on the Saturday prior to the course until noon on the Saturday following the course. If you wish to arrive or depart outside of these specified times, please let us know so we can arrange your accommodations.

The tuition fee covers the cost of accommodation and meals for the above 14-day period. If you wish to stay beyond that period, you will be billed accordingly.
