The Pearson Peacekeeping Centre offers a unique, international working environment at our two locations of Cornwallis, Nova Scotia and Montréal, Quebec.

Our professional staff have:

  • A minimum of several years of field experience in some aspect of a peace operation; and
  • Relevant academic and professional credentials.

We look for individuals who work well within a team, but who show a high level of independence, motivation and initiative. The PPC attempts to maintain a balance within the staff team between the peace operations sectors - civilian, military and police - to ensure a wide variety of perspectives. Experience working in an adult education environment is an asset. Our working language is primarily English in Cornwallis and French in Montréal, but knowledge of French, English and/or Spanish is also desirable for both campuses.

The PPC has a large External Faculty. These persons work with PPC staff on a contract basis to design, develop and deliver education, training and research activities, at our two campuses and at off-site locations. External Faculty are subject matter experts with extensive field and/or academic experience. They come from all of the sectors involved in peace operations - civilian, military and police - and have a commitment to sharing their knowledge and experience with participants.

Both campuses offer extensive exposure to international clientele, faculty and staff, and the opportunity to be involved in truly dynamic and worthy projects.

We offer competitive salaries, a generous health and retirement plan and a smoke-free work environment.

Our Locations:

Cornwallis Campus

Our Cornwallis campus is located in a peaceful, retreat-like setting, overlooking the Annapolis Basin. The campus is situated on an old military base, and has all the facilities associated with that, including accommodations, food services, transportation, gym and recreational facilities.

Nearby, the picturesque towns of Annapolis Royal [http://www.valleyweb.com] Digby and Bear River offer comfortable living, with affordable housing, rich history and small-town hospitality.

Because of the rural location of the Cornwallis staff, the staff of nearly 100 is a close-knit group, with a diverse range of technical, administrative and professional expertise.

Montréal Campus

Our Montréal campus is in the heart of the École nationale d’administration publique (Quebec School of Public Administration), near the Latin Quarter of Montréal. The city is known internationally for its diverse culture, European feel, great food and access to other major Canadian cities such as Toronto, Ottawa and Quebec City.

The Montréal campus is smaller than the Cornwallis campus, but has access to many of the same facilities, services and information.
