Meeting and Conference Rooms

Classrooms

The Pearson Peacekeeping Centre has three classroom suites in the Angle Building. Each suite consists of one large classroom that holds 30-50 people comfortably, as well as three smaller break-out rooms designed for group discussions of 10-15 people. Classrooms can be set up in a number of ways according to your needs. We also have a variety of technical/audio/visual equipment available to rent for your meetings and presentations.

Memorial Hall

For large events, we are pleased to offer the beautiful 588-seat Memorial Hall theatre. This facility is ideal for musical concerts, plays, award-ceremonies and conferences. Well-known artists and groups such as Natalie MacMaster, Frank Mills, and The Cape Breton Summer-Time Review have performed in this venue with rave reviews.

Accommodations

Enjoy the spectacular view and modern amenities of our accommodations year-round. The Pearson Peacekeeping Centre has clean, comfortable single rooms with private or shared baths, phones, alarm clock radios, desks and reading lamps. Each residence has a lounge with a TV/VCR, vending machines, free access to washers and dryers and pay telephones.

Computers / IT Equipment

Guests of the PPC have access to computers in each residence, the classrooms and the Library. The Centre is linked to the world through high speed Internet. As well, we have a wide range of information technology equipment available to rent at competitive rates during your visit.

The Peacekeepers’ Lounge

The elegant Peacekeepers' Lounge offers a variety of rooms for a variety of occasions, all with access to exceptional food and charming hospitality. The Lounge building includes the Dining Room, Bar, Games Room, Cornwallis Room, the Gallery and TV Room.

The Cornwallis Room

The Cornwallis Room is spacious and tastefully decorated, offering an ideal setting for social or business functions. It is perfect for luncheons, buffets, dinners, dances, conferences and presentations. This multi-purpose reception room offers a maximum seating capacity of 40.

The Gallery

The modern and spacious Gallery is located on the upper level of the Peacekeepers’ Lounge. Perfect for business meetings and presentations, the large boardroom is fully equipped with comfortable chairs, a presentation screen and audio/visual equipment.

The Dining Room

The Dining Room provides an elegant, comfortable setting for banquets, receptions, luncheons, buffets and casual dining. Our professional staff prepares exquisite meals to suit any palette, and can serve up to 110 people. We provide a broad range of delicious, home cooked meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Whether you need a nutrition break between meetings or a five-course formal dinner, the Pearson catering and banquet staff provides perfectly prepared food in a friendly and courteous manner.

The Peacekeepers’ Bar

The fully licensed Bar is a comfortable spot for large or small groups to relax and socialize.

The Games Room

The Games Room is a popular spot for billiards, snooker, shuffleboard and darts - a great place for some friendly competition and entertaining activities.

The TV Room

The TV Room has a large TV, VCR and comfortable couches and chairs.

No Smoking Policy

To promote a healthy environment, smoking is not permitted in any PPC building with the exception of two designated rooms in the Peacekeepers’ Lounge.

PPC facilities and accommodations are wheelchair accessible.
