Leadership of Peacekeeping Operations
Highly effective leadership is the single most critical factor for the success of any process. An effective leader can optimize the use of limited resources, can inspire their subordinates/personnel, and set the proper example for any of the activities that fall in their area of responsibility. As peace operations and transitions by States continue to become more complex, they require leaders who can critically analyze lessons learned, as well as know how to manage the dynamic environment in which they work. The Pearson Peacekeeping Centre’s expertise in building leadership capacity is the basis for continued focus in this area of expertise, particularly in supporting leaders’ ability to mentor their subordinates, monitor performance, and negotiate with host governments, as well as other stakeholders.
