Deployment Readiness

The Pearson Peacekeeping Centre has developed an internationally renowned expertise for assisting institutions and their leadership, as well as governments, in understanding the requirements for deploying personnel into integrated peace operations. Capacity building projects or programs generally focus on supporting Troop and Police Contributing Countries (TCC/PCC) and their organisations to prepare police and military personnel for deployment across the peace operations continuum.

We pay increased attention to training, vetting, rostering and deploying civilians to serve with military and police colleagues. Peacebuilding activities, in particular, are highly dependent on the cadre of “blue briefcases” instrumental in institution building and strengthening civil society with the objective of sustainable peace. We can provide the full spectrum of service lines and offer the following activities/courses/seminars to build capacity in this area:

"This commitment to peacekeeping is a characteristic our two nations [Ghana and Canada] share.  I was pleased to learn that Canada has helped support the Kofi Annan Peacekeeping Training Centre through our own Pearson Peacekeeping Centre..." Her Excellency the Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean
