About Us
Vision: To be a world leader in peace operations thinking and learning
Mission: Make peace operations more effective through research, education, training and capacity building
We connect civilians, military and police through research-led capacity building programs, training and education activities. We also bring together academics, field experts and institutions to facilitate discussions and research that improve peace operations all over the world.
We work with governments, institutions and organizations as they develop the infrastructure, policies, systems, programs and functions that strengthen their ability to recruit, train and deploy qualified individuals in complex peace operations.
Strategic, operational and tactical training courses can be tailored to meet specific objectives and requirements. Our training programs integrate the perspective of civilians, military and police to reflect the true nature of complex peace operations. They promote understanding, dialogue and cooperation among various sectors involved in peacekeeping missions.
We design exercises that place military officers in fictitious, but realistic scenarios, compelling them to work with civilians and police towards a common goal. These are customized to meet specific government or organizational requirements.
Currently, no other organization in Canada – and few in the world – delivers what the Pearson Peacekeeping Centre does, to such a diverse audience.
